We have been selling this reed since Good Tone Guild launched our first web site in 2002. It is a great reed for those of all experience levels who want a consistent reed with a beautiful tone and great response. It comes standard with the wire because we believe a wired oboe reed is very practical and adds longevity to the reed. For these reasons, this is our most popular, best-selling, oboe reed!

By popular demand, the Oboe Signature Reed is available in a cost-saving 5 Reed Value Pack ($14 per reed versus $16.99 when purchased seperately).

After going thru many reeds I found these reeds to be amazing. I live in a very dry climate during the summer and other reeds i've tried seemed to go
wild. But these reeds always stayed the same and even better when it's humid. They need to be played in a bit to be broken in. I usually like to do
that when I"m doing my long notes warm up. After that they are good to go. The wire in my opinion is great to have. When the reeds feel a bit
more resistant in the beginning I pull the wire down and that seems to help make it less resistant. The sound is well rounded and dark. And the lower
notes play flawlessly. Last but not least, the price is perfect.

Meg's reeds have a bit more cane left on than others I've tried. They last longer, and have a nice thick sound. They take a little while to break in,
but the time is worth it! They're definitely worth the price.
